Tuition fee reductions

Distinction Grades

a.Distinction grades obtained in pre-university studies: Students who have obtained an overall grade of 'Distinction' in 2nd year of Bachillerato under LOGSE or equivalent will be awarded a reduction in tuition fees equivalent to 1 ECTS credit in their programme of study.

This reduction will be granted once and will be applied in the proportional amount to the monthly fees charged.

Students must provide proof that they are entitled to this reduction in tuition fees by submitting a certified photocopy ( or photocopy and original for verification) of the page of their academic record containing the grade of 'Distinction'  in Bachillerato

b.Distinction grades obtained in University studies: For Distinctions obtained in any subject (s) in their final years of study at the University of Deusto, students will be entitled to a reduction in fees equivalent to the contribution or initital tuition payment, corresponding to the number of credits earned in those subjects. 

Application for subjects completed with Distinction grades:

* First and Second cycles: Bachelor's degrees, Diplomas, Engineering and Technical Engineering degrees: This reduction in fees will apply to the student's enrolment in the following academic year, and will only apply to the credits of the same programme of study or second-cycle programmes that can be accessed with the degree obtained, or a first-cycle degree completed at the University of Deusto.

* Official Graduate Degrees:This reduction in fees will apply to the student's enrolment in the following academic year, and will only apply to the credits of the same official graduate degree programme or research training for doctoral studies.

Maximum Fee Reduction: The number of credits applied at distinction level will not be higher than those for which students enrol.  The total reduction in tuition fees for Distinction grades and Scholarships awarded by the University will not be higher than the full amount of tuition fees.

Fee reductions under the agreement between the Basque Government and the University of Deusto

Students from any of the following categories are eligible for the benefits offered  every year by the Council on Education, Universities and Research, according to the agreement between the Basque Government and the University of Deusto: 

-Member of a large family (general or special category)

-Victim of terrorism or relative of a victim

-Disabled student (33% or higher) or having a disabled family member (65% or higher)

-Victim of gender violence or relative of a victim

-Member of a single parent family

In each case, reductions will be calculated according to the official public price established for each programme of study and not on the fees for these studies at our university.

In order to apply for these deductions, the corresponding form must be completed and submitted to the General Secretariat with the documents and enrolment forms no later than 30 September 2013.

Please note that applications for fee reductions must be made annually.

Once enrolment has been duly completed, the University will submit the declaration stating the persons applyng for benefits and the corresponding amounts to the Basque Government. When the Basque Government receives the list of applicants complying with eligibility requirements, it will distribute the amounts awarded. Applicants will be notified of the deposit to their bank account by e-mail.  Under no circumstances can the settlement exceed the amount assumed by the Basque Government in the agreement signed with the UD.
